Happy Sunday! I hope you are enjoying the bank holiday weekend.
For today's post, I thought I'd start a new series, Currently, where I'll share a little snapshot of life lately, including the things I’m loving, reading, watching, eating, listening to, and finding joy in. I hope you enjoy :)
Currently, I've been...
Reminiscing about
My recent trips (both abroad and here in the UK!).
The Netherlands: My family and I recently visited my sister who lives in a quiet village in the Netherlands. The peaceful surroundings, beautiful greenery and slow pace made it such a lovely place to escape to for a weekend.
Portsmouth, UK: Not too long ago, I visited Portsmouth for a day out with my partner. It's always lovely to be by the sea, enjoy the fresh air and take a little break from everyday life.
Watching
Last night I watched The Whisper Man on Netflix. It follows the story of a widowed novelist whose son is abducted. He turns to his estranged father, a retired police detective, for help. They soon discover a connection to the decades-old case of a convicted serial killer known as the Whisper Man. I found it a very easy watch and would definitely recommend it to thriller fans.
For my next watch, I'm planning to see The Dog Stars at the cinema.
Reading
I'm currently just over halfway through reading the Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler, a dystopian novel that is set in a post-apocalyptic Earth that has been greatly affected by climate change and social inequality. I am enjoying it so far and plan to write up a review on this blog once I'm finished.
Writing
Not as much as I would have hoped to! But I plan to write blog posts more frequently. I changed my blog's name to Cosy Habits so that I could share some of the simple pleasures of everyday life -- reading, cooking, travelling, home projects, DIYs, and much more.. so stay tuned if you're interested :)
Listening to
At this very moment - "Remember the time" by Michael Jackson.
Eating
Lately, I've been cooking a variety of meals, including, as pictured above, Turkey Meatballs and Roast Chicken.
I have not baked in a long time, so I plan to make a banana cake soon or try something new.
Loving
... the cooler weather. Don't get me wrong, I do love some sunshine, but the UK heatwaves were very intense.
.. the fact that I am off work tomorrow for the long bank holiday weekend.
Looking forward to
My next trip abroad to Norway.
Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
